Le Chant des Sapins is located just outside the small village of Le Saulcy, on a quiet country road used only by local traffic. Several hiking routes start just outside the front gate. From the elevated location of the house you have breathtaking views of the pine tree covered hills of the Vosges at a distance. The border of Alsace with its beautiful vineyards, charming timber-framed house and excellent restaurants is only a few minutes away.

In the winter months you will find many skiing slopes in close vicinity, with La Bresse (79 min) and Gerardmer (64 min) providing the widest range of slopes and facilities.

In the village of Belval (only 1.000 m from the front gate) you will find a pizzeria, while the town of Senones (only 8 car minutes away) has a variety of shops and supermarkets, as well as a weekly market.

Travel information

Le Chant des Sapins can be easily reached by car from the Benelux, the South of England, Northern France, Western Germany and Switzerland. You can also use Le Saulcy as a base to travel around.

The nearest train stations are Etival (21 min) and St. Die (31 min), while the Strasbourg international train station is only 45 minutes away. From there you can catch the TGV to Paris in 1 hour and 48 minutes. Alternatively, the central train station of Basel (Switzerland) can be reached in only 1 hour and 40 minutes, from where you can take direct trains to almost anywhere in Switzerland or to Milan, Italy (4h 6min), Lake Maggiore (3h 47min) or further east and south.
